A Golden Hour Family Session at Camp Morton

This evening with the Wiebe family at Camp Morton near Gimli on Lake Winnipeg was truly a dream. The golden hour light was absolutely magical, and paired with the sweetest family, it made for the perfect session.

As Interlake family photographer, evenings like this are exactly why I love photographing families in natural outdoor locations. Camp Morton has such beautiful scenery, from old buildings to peaceful lakeshore views.

Exploring Camp Morton Provincial Park

One of my favorite parts of this session was wandering around the old monastery ruins and exploring the shoreline together. The Wiebe family was completely up for trying every idea I suggested, and they even came up with some creative moments of their own.

Down by Lake Winnipeg, skipping rocks quickly became a must! Those playful, unscripted moments are always my favorite to capture because they show families exactly as they are.

As the evening continued, the sunset over Lake Winnipeg gave us the most beautiful golden light. Everything about the night felt calm and warm.

Sessions like this remind me that the simplest moments often become the most meaningful memories. When families laugh together, explore together, and simply enjoy being present, those are the moments that tell the most beautiful story.
